Appel à candidature
Session XÂ: ÂÂSoustraireÂÂ
2014-2016

L'Institut des hautes Ãtudes en arts plastiques (Iheap) fut crÃÃ par la 
Ville de Paris, en 1985 en rÃfÃrence au Bauhaus et au Black Mountain 
College et comme alternative à lâÃcole Nationale SupÃrieure des 
Beaux-Arts de Paris.
LâInstitut des hautes Ãtudes en arts plastiques (Iheap) est un 
Ãtablissement dâenseignement supÃrieur de recherche et dâexpÃrimentation 
en art. Il dispense un cursus sans Ãquivalent qui offre à ses 
sessionnistes lâopportunità de se libÃrer des  acquis hÃritÃs de 
lâhistoire de lâart du 20e siÃcle. Il propose Ãgalement de mettre en 
Ãvidence certains des enjeux à lâÅuvre dans lâart du 21e siÃcle, une 
histoire en cours dâÃcriture à laquelle les sessionnistes pourront 
Ãventuellement prendre part.
LâIheap sâadresse à ceux qui tÃmoignent un intÃrÃt pour des dÃmarches 
singuliÃres et extrÃmes Ãmergeant actuellement de faÃon sporadique dans 
le monde de lâart et ailleurs, Ã ceux qui souhaitent transformer leur 
pratique artistique ou leur activitÃ
professionnelle, à ceux qui aprÃs plusieurs annÃes dâÃcole dâart 
souhaitent mettre à mal un carcan, à ceux qui rejettent lâart tel quâil 
est pratiquà communÃment, à ceux qui attendent dâune Ãcole quâelle soit 
plus quâun contexte de production artistique et à ceux enfin qui, dans 
des conditions expÃrimentales, cherchent à mettre des questions 
essentielles au travail.
Le cursus complet de lâIheap se rÃalise en deux annÃes. La premiÃre se 
constitue de sÃances de travail mixant pratique et thÃorie. La seconde 
est consacrÃe à la rÃdaction dâun rapport dâexpÃrience faisant Ãtat du 
projet du participant et de lâavancement de sa  recherche. En fin de 
cursus, le participant doit avoir pratiquà et accompli un ou plusieurs 
projets.

Call for Applications 2014
Session X, 2014-2016

In 1985, the City of Paris gave Pontus Hulten the task of creating a 
graduate school for research in contemporary art. Its antecendents were 
to be the Weimer Bauhaus School and Black Mountain College in the U.S., 
and it was meant to function as an alternative to Paris's Ãcole 
Nationale SupÃrieure des Beaux-Arts.
The Institut des hautes Ãtudes en arts plastiques (IHEAP) offers 
participants a course of study where they can free themselves from the 
inherited art history of the 20th century, by investigating crucial 
issues of art in the 21st century, an ongoing history in which the 
participants will eventually take part.
IHEAP is open to all those who have an interest in singular and extreme 
practices which currently and sporadically appear in the art world and 
elsewhere. IHEAP is for those who want to change their artistic practice 
or professional activity, for those who after several years of art 
school want to break free of alienated learning, who expect more from a 
school than a framework for artistic production, for those who reject 
art as it is commonly practiced, and finally for those who wish to work 
on essential issues in intimate and experimental conditions.
The course of study is completed in two years. The first year is 
composed of sessions work that mix practice and theorie. The second year 
is dedicated to the creation of an activity report and a project.
